I can't believe I am actually 7 months pregnant!! Time is going by really fast. I also can't actually grasp that I am going to be a mother. I know that sounds weird- but it's one thing to say oh I'm pregnant and a total other thing to really have 2 babies at home that I am responsible for! Although I say all the time that I am so ready, I really need to sign up for a "What the heck does a mother do with newborns?" class.
As far as the babies (Bryson and Ansley) not much has changed, except I have been moved to weekly doctor appointments. Last week the doctor told me they would be very happy if I made it to 36 weeks-thats only 7 more weeks! However, is does end up being my ideal day to have them, Oct. 27. Not only is that Antonio's birthday, but it would work out perfectly for my maternity leave. Both of the babies weighed about 2.5 pounds last week and should be growing 1/4 a pound each week for the next two weeks and then a 1/2 pound each week after that. They were both over the 50th percentile for height and weight for a singleton, so that is wonderful considering they will be born early. Of course I would love to have them both be over 6 pounds, but as long as they are over 5 I think I should avoid the NICU and have a good chance of having them be able to breastfeed- which would just be awesome!

Milestones...
Well we have successfully made it through our 3rd big milestone! First being a positive pregnancy test, and second making past the first trimester. And now we have made it to the week of vitality (sp)!! YAY!!
The babies are both growing well and each weighed almost a 1.5 pounds last Wednesday! I can't believe how big they are! It was really funny watching the ultrasound because Baby A (we're thinking Bryson) had the body proportions of Antonio- short legs, long torso, and big head! Baby B (Ansley) had my body- little head, short torso, and long legs! Looks like we both might have little mini-me's.
I cannot beleive we are already 25 weeks pregnant! The average pregancy length for twins is between 34-36 weeks so that only leaves us 9-11 more weeks. WOW! I hope I'm ready. I better start my training on how to change a diaper, how to give a baby a bath, and how in the world to breastfeed two =)!
Next milestones:
28 weeks- babies have almost 100% of survival (Sept. 3)
34 weeks- Most likely will not have to go to NICU (Oct. 15)
36-37 weeks- Full term, should be able to breastfeed! (Oct. 29-Nov.4)
November 11- Date they will not let me pass to avoid me going into labor by myself!

YAY! Baby A finally cooperated!!
Today was our 20 week check-up and everything looked great!! When we first went in Baby A would not cooperate again-I was beginning to think that two of us were going to have a very long talk in about 15 weeks about behaving. So the ultrasound lady went to check out baby b and said, "Well since we know they are identical if we see one we will know the other." This comment did not sit well with me, but I kept my mouth shut for now! So we began checking out everything except for the gender, she likes to build anticipation-funny I don't-but whatever! Finally she announced that 'b' was a girl which we already knew. She said she would try one more time to look at 'a' but she also went ahead and congratulated us on our twin girls. Well after checking everything again, she was astonished to tell us that baby 'a' was actually a BOY!!!!! We were so excited, I am pretty sure Antonio jumped 10 feet out of his seat. The lady was so convinced that they were identical that she kept going back and forth to make sure she did not get one wrong, but at the end she realized that we are having one boy and one girl!! We are so beyond excited, I cannot believe all the blessings we have had with this pregnancy! God is wonderful!

One is a girl and one is a ...baby!
Thursday was our 17 week appointment. WOW! That is like half way there in twin world. We were not scheaduled to have an ultrasound but after much manipulation on my part my mid-wife decided to let me have one. They started to the ultrasound to find the "heartbeat" (what my midwife used as an excuse to get an ultrasound although we actually heard the heartbeat already) then my mom so sweetly asked if the ultrasound lady would tell us the sex, so she began to look. She started with baby "a" who nicely had the cord between his/her legs so she moved to baby "b" who she quickly said was a girl! YAY! I am so excited I am ready to start my bow collection now. The ultrasound lady went back to baby "a" and continued to try to look by shaking me and poking hard at the belly. Its funny-I am afraid to touch my belly and the lady is like pounding on it! Well after about five minutes she could not give me a definite answer but guessed that it was a boy. Although I would LOVE to believe this I also do not want to get my hopes up!! I go back to the doctor on July 8 for my official 20 week anatomy scan so we shall see!

Week 16 or 17
Welcome to our blog!! We figured with friends and family everywhere this would be the easiest way to keep everyone updated on our pregnancy! We are so excited about the twins and all of the joy they will bring to our lives. This is a picture from last week. It looks like they are playing pat-a-cake in the picture, but in the actual video it looks like they were boxing!
We are currently 16 or 17 weeks! I thought I was 16, but my doctor tells me I am wrong and actually 17- hey I'll take it! My "due date" is November 26. However, they will not let me go past November 11. Since we are having twins they do not want to risk me going into labor by myself. We still do not know if they are boys or girls but the doctors are pretty sure that they are identical. My gut feeling is that they are girls. All of the old tales point that way at least: their heart rates are 145, I am gaining weight all over, and it looks like a watermelon in my belly! I am feeling great- second trimester is WAY better than the first.
We will try to update this often so check back for updates!!
